H.E. the Minister of Transport, Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, witnessed the handover ceremony of two new 82,000-ton Kamsarmax dry bulk carriers, "Wadi AlNeel" and "Wadi AlKamar," delivered to National Navigation Company by the New Hantong shipyard in China. "Wadi El Neel" is currently sailing towards Egypt, while "Wadi El Kamar" is preparing to depart. The delivery forms part of the company's fleet modernization plan and the national initiative to renew the Egyptian commercial fleet, reinforcing its competitiveness in regional and international markets and supporting Egypt's vision of becoming a regional hub for transport, logistics, and transit trade.

The two identical vessels each measure 229 metres in length and 32.26 metres in width, with a draft of 14.5 metres, and incorporate the latest global technologies to enhance operational efficiency and optimize fuel consumption. Each ship is powered by a 7,490-kilowatt MAN B&W main engine fitted with a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system to limit emissions in line with the latest international environmental requirements, as well as Ballast Water Management Systems that safeguard the marine environment and prevent the transfer of marine organisms between habitats in accordance with international conventions. With a fuel capacity of 2,054 cubic metres, the vessels are capable of sailing continuously for up to 90 days, supported by integrated seawater desalination plants producing 20 tons of fresh water daily. Both carriers are also equipped with integrated navigation systems, modern communication devices, and advanced engine monitoring and control technology to ensure the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency.
